What is EKIBEN FAIR??
A popular 2-week event held at Keio Department Store every January. Year 2019 will be our 54th Ekiben Fair🎉
Over 300 ekiben🍱 (train station lunch box) will gather at our event. Ekiben usually use local ingredients and specialties, or sometimes have designs related to traditional culture and characters of that region.
Along with seafood and meat ekiben, several unique ekiben will show up too!! Letfs take a sneak peek at some of the bento appearing this year✨

Ikameshi: 780 yen
Popular ekiben that is almost always ranked the most sold ekiben during Ekiben Fair. Soft squid, flavored sweet & spicy with special sauce, is stuffed fully with chewy rice. 2 palm-size Ikameshi are in a box, so itfs great to share with friends too!


[Hokkaido / Nemuro Main Line / Akkeshi Sta.]
Ujiie Kakimeshi: 1,080 yen
Plump oyster, whelk, clam, shiitake mushrooms, etc. topped on rice cooked with oyster and hijiki seaweed. May look a bit plain, but once you have a taste of it, youfll totally become a fan of it!


[Gunma Pref. / Shinetsu Main Line / Yokokawa Sta.]
Touge no Kamameshi: 1,080 yen
Open up and youfll find colorful ingredients such as chestnut, burdock, apricot, bamboo shoot, chicken, quail egg, green peas, and red pickled ginger. After finish eating, the bowl can be used for cooking rice, making hotpot, etc.


[Nara Pref. / Wakayama Line / Yoshinokuchi Sta.]
Kakinohazushi Mix: 1,100 yen
gKakinohazushih may look slightly different from the gsushih you often see. Kakinohazushi–Narafs local cuisine–is aged by placing stone weight over sushi (topped with mackerel and salmon) wrapped with permisson leaves. Each piece is wrapped individually so need of chopsticks. 8 pieces inside so great for sharing with your friends!

Ekiben doesnft always have to be rice, even sandwiches can be an ekiben! Marugame Specialty Bone-in Chicken Bento: 1,350 yen
Ekiben with a large piece of bone-in chicken seasoned with spices like salt & pepper and garlic covering the entire rice.
Pull the string and wait for 5-6 minutes for it to warm up. Add chicken oil as you like.

Class 923 Doctor Yellow Bento: 1,200 yen
If you see Doctor Yellow, you are so lucky because its running schedule is not made public. Doctor Yellow is literally gthe doctor of Shinkansenh, as it checks the condition of tracks and electric facilities by running. Just like Doctor Yellowfs color, this ekiben is filled with yellow dishes like fried prawn, mini omelette, Scotch egg, boiled sweet potato, saffron rice, etc.


[Tokyo / Keio Line / Shinjuku Sta.]
Class 5000 Keio Line Bento: 1,300 yen
Ekiben designed just like Keio Line 5000 series, which began running in 2018. Includes kids' favorites such as chicken rice, fried prawn, omlette, and salisbury steak.

Class 500 Hello Kitty Shinkansen Bento: 1,250 yen

[Tottori Pref. / Sanin Main Line / Tottori Sta.]
GeGeGe no Kitaro Don (crab/winter only): 1,680 yen
Tottori Pref. is the hometown of the author gGeGeGe no Kitaro.h Crab meat is hidden underneath the Tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) designed as Kitarofs outfit. This Kitaro Arita ware bowl is so useful when eating rice (of course!), noodles, cereals, and such!

Nishi-Akashi Stationfs famous ekiben gHipparidakomeshih got roasted by Godzilla. Inside the container designed as the pot used for octopus fishing are grilled octopus, conger eel, and seasonal vegetables. Godzilla is designed on the pot too!

[Gunma Pref. / Takasaki Line / Takasaki Sta.]
Daruma Bento: 1,000 yen
Takasaki Cityfs traditional craft gdarumah is regarded by Japanese as a lucky charm for fulfilling dreams and achieving goals, as it wakes up no matter how many times it gets knocked down. This Daruma-shaped bento are filled with plenty of ingredients such as cold chicken, chicken & burdock roll, sansai (mountain vegetables), bamboo shoot, shiitake mushroom, konnyaku, stem lettuce, and chestnut. After eating, this container can be reused as a piggy bank!

Inside are 2 onigiri using rice cooked with surf clam (1 is packed inside the surf clam shell), smoked egg, smoked cheese, and pickled kukiwakame seaweed. Each packed individually, so no need of chopsticks! The surf clam onigiri are so delicious, the more you chew, the more the flavor comes out.
